Day-by-day program

A warm welcome at Blaise Diagne International Airport, assistance with formalities and transfer to your hotel in Dakar. Check-in and free time to relax after your flight. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

After breakfast, departure for a tour of Dakar: Renaissance Statue, Divinity Mosque, Artisan Village, Plateau, Place de l'Indépendance and Presidential Palace.
Crossing by rowboat to the UNESCO-listed island of Gorée. Lunch on the island, followed by a visit to the Maison des Esclaves, Fort d'Estrées and the colorful streets. Return to Dakar, dinner and overnight stay.

Drive to Lac Rose, famous for its pinkish waters and artisanal salt extraction. Canoe trip and 4×4 excursion between the dunes and the ocean. Lunch at leisure, then departure for the Lompoul desert. Settling into camp, camel ride, sunset and traditional evening. Dinner and overnight in Saharan tents.

After breakfast, departure for Saint-Louis, the former colonial capital. Check-in at the hotel, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, horse-drawn carriage ride through the narrow streets of the island, followed by a visit to the Guet-Ndar fishing district. Dinner and overnight stay.

Early departure for the Djoudj National Bird Park (or Langue de Barbarie, depending on the season). Safari by pirogue through a unique sanctuary home to pelicans, flamingos, herons and hundreds of migratory species. Lunch with local people, then return to Saint-Louis. Dinner and overnight stay.

Drive to Touba, the spiritual capital of Mouridism. Visit to the Great Mosque, one of the country's major religious monuments. Continuation to Kaolack, hotel accommodation and lunch. Visit to the central market, renowned for its spices, fabrics and handicrafts. Dinner and overnight stay.

Early departure for Casamance, crossing the Gambia River. Lunch at leisure en route. Arrival in Ziguinchor, visit of the Saint-Maur market, then on to Oussouye, in the heart of the Diola kingdom. Settling into camp, dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, mountain bike ride to the village of Siganar, then meeting with the King of Oussouye (subject to availability). Drive to Diakène Ouolof and transfer by pirogue to Egueye Island. Settle into village camp, hike and cultural evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Depart by pirogue for the historic island of Carabane. Visit the old Breton church, the colonial cemetery and the remains of the trading post. Lunch on site. Return to Egueye at the end of the day via Ile aux Oiseaux. Dinner and overnight stay.

Crossing by pirogue to Cap Skirring, a seaside resort renowned for its heavenly beaches. Check-in at your hotel and free afternoon (lunch on your own). Dinner and overnight stay.

Excursion to the traditional villages around Cap Skirring: Boucotte and its museum, Bouyouye, then Diembering, a Mecca of Diola culture. Lunch in a local seaside restaurant. Return to Cap Skirring, relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Free morning at the beach. Lunch at leisure, then transfer to the airport for the Cap Skirring → Dakar flight. On arrival, drive to Somone. Check-in at your hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

A day entirely dedicated to relaxation: beach, pool, massages or walks in the village. Lunch at the hotel. Free time in the afternoon for shopping or personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay.

Departure for the Bandia reserve for a safari to meet giraffes, buffaloes, rhinoceroses, antelopes, monkeys and crocodiles. Continuation to the Somone Lagoon. Lunch by the sea, followed by a pirogue ride through mangroves, flamingos and herons. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast, free time according to flight schedule (beach, pool, relaxation). Lunch at leisure, then transfer to the airport for your return flight. End of tour.
