Departure for Touba, the spiritual capital of Mouridism. Visit to the Great Mosque, one of the country's most emblematic religious monuments.
Lunch at the Relais de Kaolack, then on to Toubacouta, at the gateway to the Saloum Delta, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its lush mangroves and exceptional wildlife.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, departure for the Fathala Reserve. On the way, stop to admire the region's largest tree: the majestic cheese tree, Senegal's natural emblem.
Arrive at Fathala, a vast 6000-hectare reserve of protected natural forest. Aboard a safari vehicle, you'll set off to discover Africa's wildlife:
antelopes, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, forest buffaloes, red colobus monkeys, green monkeys, and maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the impressive Derby eland, the world's largest antelope.
Lunch on the reserve.
In the afternoon, enjoy an unforgettable experience included in your tour: Walk with lions - without leash or collar - accompanied by professional guides. Get up close and personal with these majestic predators in a safe environment.
Return to Toubacouta at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight at the Keur Saloum hotel.
Quiet breakfast, then departure for an excursion to the islands of the Saloum Delta.
Visit the bird resting area and take a pirogue ride through the mangroves, with the chance to spot herons, pelicans, cormorants, flamingos and crowned cranes.
Meeting with the king of the Niominka on the island of Sipo, populated by traditional fishermen.
Picnic lunch, free time for swimming or relaxing.
Return to hotel in early afternoon, then transfer to AIBD, Saly and surroundings or Dakar .
