Leave your hotel for the pier, then take a 20-minute rowboat ride to Gorée Island, a poignant symbol of the slave trade. Discover its narrow streets and colonial architecture, and visit :
- the House of Slaves, with its famous Door of No Return
- Saint-Charles church
- Fort d'Estrées, now a historical museum
After this cultural and historical immersion, we head for the mythical Lac Rose. Lunch at Salim's before visiting this astonishing lake, whose color varies from pink to mauve depending on the light. With a salt concentration of almost 380 g/litre, you can float effortlessly in its waters, in the manner of the Dead Sea.
